Located on Pudding Lane in the heart of London’s vibrant City, MBER restaurant and bar is a stones throw away from The Monument. Just as the area echoes back to the Great Fire of London, so MBER reflects this momentous part of the capital’s history.

MBER opened its doors on the 350th anniversary of the Great Fire, honouring one of the most significant events in London’s history with a distinctive design by Ross McNally, founder of Scarinish Studio. Glowing copper, charcoal metal, warm woods and flickering candles all come together to create an intimate feel and memorable experiences in this hidden gem.

JONATHAN VILLAR – HEAD CHEF

Jonathan, originally from the Philippines, has been in the UK for over 20 years. He’s made his mark on the UK restaurant industry, showcasing his wealth of creative experience as Head Chef at PJ’s Steaks in London’s West End followed by Minako at The Met and Kopapa by Peter Gordon.

Forever a family man, Jonathan has been inspired by his Mother and Grandmother to cook feasts, made for sharing with loved ones. Fascinated with unique combinations of textures and flavours, he uses seasonality to create a Pan-Asian fusion tapas menu at MBER, invoking memories of his adventures and methods of cooking from his experiences working and travelling in Oman, Dubai, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore – to name a few!

Carefully sourcing the finest, freshest ingredients from all corners of the globe, Jonathan infuses a unique identity of flavour profiles into his seasonal dishes.

With a compact list of trusted suppliers who provide a range of different ingredients, Jonathan and his team always seek out the best of the best. The vast majority of our ingredients are organic. Importantly; all of our ingredients are authentic, sourced locally as well as from across East Asia, South-East Asia and beyond.
